Okay, so I've finally added more pics. Things got really crazy with the Festival and I had no time to keep this stuff up. And then, after the Festival was over, my social life took priority. C'mon... It's New York.. of course it would.

Anyhow, at long last here are some more pics for your viewing pleasure!!

Much love to you all! Kirk

Here are some new pics from last weekend when Sara and her dad, that's Mr. Steele to you, and his wife, Valerie, came to visit the city. We took the train ALL the way down to Coney Island and rode the infamous Cyclone... a moment in my short life when I thought I might not see the next. We rode the bumper cars and had a Coney Island hot dog!!!

it looks like you had a great time Thanks for sharing your adventures! Sat 19-Jun-2004 05:03

I spent the weekend with my friend Catharine who I go to school with in Pittsburgh. She's working at the New York Foundation for the Arts this summer in Soho. We went to the Brooklyn Museum and just hung out exploring the city all weekend. Her roommates are Cricket and Sarah who have a swanky lil' pad in Brooklyn. They are a great group of girls (and they love me, so of course they're cool!)

Your pictures are so good, cute, and funny!! Mon 7-Jun-2004 06:19

A Street Fair and a Broadway Show

View all 7 photos...
Hi,
Spent the weekend exploring the city. There was a street fair today running from Central Park South all the way down to Times Square. It was really neat to see the city pull something off to bring the community together. Reminded me a bit of the Tom Green or Schleicher County Stock Show and Rodeo. It is a small world, after all!

Was getting a bit of a theatre itch, being that I've been here over two weeks and haven't seen a single performance, so I made my way down to Times Square to the TKTS booth (1/2 price theatre tickets) and got a ticket to "Little Shop of Horrors". It was a fantastical, fun, happy time which I needed. I have never seen this show on stage, but I used to watch the movie over and over and over. I'm glad I went, but perhaps I did a bad thing, because now I just want to see more shows!! HAHA! Guess I've got all the time!!! Tomorrow is Memorial day and I have to work (ugh), oh well, C'est la Vie!

Thanks for sharing your adventures. Makes you not seem so far away. Miss you lots. Love, Mom Tue 1-Jun-2004 15:05

The close of a good weekend

The acrobats spinning each other on their heads
Acrobats jumping over 5 people
People wading in the Washington Square fountain
View all 4 photos...
This morning, Sara and I got up and went down to the village and saw these twins do an acrobatic act at Washington Square Park. I even had to participate by holding a hurdle for the guys to jump over. They span each other on their heads and jumped over a crowd of people. It was loads of fun. Then, we went to a very late lunch at Peanut Butter & Company. This is a great place that specializes in Peanut Butter sandwiches from a regular PB&J to a Nutterfutter (Peanut Butter and Marshmallow Fluff) to The Elvis (Peanut Butter, honey, and bananas, with optional bacon, grilled)... It's good fun. Then, I saw her off. It was a good weekend to start off a great summer!

A good day....

Radio City is Beautiful at Night.. (the trash is from a parade.)
Columbus Circle, the entrance to Central Park.
This is a tired me after a long, but good day.
I've been quite lonely since arriving, not knowing much of anyone here. But, one of my oldest friends, Sara, came down yesterday and we hung out downtown all evening. We went down to Herald Square and did a quick bit of shopping, and then headed up to get some of the best Italian food in the city at Pietrasanta at 47th Street and 9th Avenue (Try the Mazz Frita.... there's nothing like homemade New York City 9th avenue mozzerella!)

After that we met Sara's friend Daryl for a cup of coffee and headed home. It was a good day.

THERE'S the cutest Texan! Sun 23-May-2004 16:50
